Ninth Street to be Repaved!

The city of Durham will be repaving Ninth Street from Hillsborough Road to Green Street starting sometime later this week–probably Thursday, June 30 or so. The contractors doing the work say that they will be leaving one lane open, so traffic should be able to get through. However, you will not be able to park along Ninth Street.

Signs will be posted warning of when the work is actually going to begin. It is supposed to last about two weeks.

Please remember that you can always approach us through Iredell and the back entrance beside the old blue garage. This is also where our second parking lot is located.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

July 5th is First Tuesday plus a Blood Drive!

Elmo’s Diner-Durham will be hosting a First Tuesday fundraiser on Tuesday, July 5th for Pearsontown Elementary. Ten percent of sales from that day (including take-out) will go to their PTA.

Elmo’s Diner-Carrboro will be hosting a First Tuesday fundraiser for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation. PSF supports all the schools in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro system. You can learn more about them at www.publicschoolfoundation.org

You can also go the extra mile and give blood at our Carrboro location. The American Red Cross will have their mobile blood drive van in the parking lot between 2:30 and 7:00 that day.

The blood drive does accept walk-ins, but it is quicker for you to make an appointment. Visit www.membersforlife.org/cbsr/schedule and click on search by sponsor code and enter 337 to schedule your appointment. You can also call the diner at 919-929-2909 and ask for Cindy McMahan or leave a message and she will return you call to set up an appointment.
