Carrboro News

We are Open on Easter!

Just in case you are wondering, we are open on Easter! We are operating normal hours on Easter weekend including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Elmo’s Adopts a Highway!

Elmo’s Diner-Carrboro is delighted to announce that we have been given our stretch of highway through the Adopt-a-Highway program. If driving from Durham to Carrboro, you can check out our sign on 15-501 just after the Franklin Fordam Blvd split. The sign is just before Eastgate.

We will start our first pick-up (weather permitting) on Wednesday, April 13th–so wave or give us a friendly toot-toot if you see us out there!

March 22nd is the Big Day!

Please remember to join us at either location to support two great organizations that help at-risk children in our local schools. Carrboro Elmo’s will be donating 10% of their sales from tomorrow (Tuesday, March 22nd) to TABLE. This is a great organization that sends back-packs full of good foods home with kids who may not have enough to eat over the weekends.

Durham Elmo’s will be participating in the Dine Out for Kids program which supports Communities in Schools. This is an organization that also runs a weekend back-pack program as well as a few other programs for kids in need. Ten percent of Durham sales will be going to support Communities in Schools.

You can learn more about both organization through their websites:
www.TABLEnc.org
www.cisdurham.org

Please join us Tuesday, March 22nd anytime from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and help the kids!

JOIN US ON MARCH 22 AND HELP TWO GREAT GROUPS!!

On Tuesday, March 22 both Elmo’s will be hosting fundraisers for their respective communities.

Carrboro Elmo’s will be donating 10% of their total sales from that day to TABLE. TABLE provides food for Chapel Hill-Carrboro elementary school age children at risk for hunger during weekends and times of the year when free school breakfasts and lunches are unavailable. Their Weekend Backpack Program gives participating children “loaner” backpacks on Fridays containing healthy food for the weekend. (Getting food in backpacks, not grocery bags, offers children a sense of privacy.) Please join us on Tuesday, March 22 to support this terrific organization. You are welcome to bring healthy food donations as well. Check out their website at www.TABLEnc.org!

Elmo’s Diner-Durham will be hosting a fundraiser for Communities in Schools called Dine Out for Kids. Communities in Schools also has a weekend back pack program along with many other programs that help Durham’s most vulnerable children stay in school and have hope for a brighter future. You can check out their good works at www.cisdurham.org. Ten percent of Durham’s total sales for Tuesday, March 22 will go to help support this worthy cause.

Please join us!
