After 20 years in business, Elmo’s Diner has a very large extended family. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our great friends and customers, Mr. Frank Abernathy. Many of you may know Frank as the man in the wheelchair who was a daily presence at one of our front tables. We know him as a dear friend. He will be missed.

The service for Frank is this Friday, the 29th at 11:00AM-graveside at

Elmo’s will hold a remembrance in the near future which we will announce here.

Friday, July 29th is the 20th anniversary of the opening of Elmo’s Diner-Carrboro. Please stop by and help them celebrate!

On August 2nd, we will be hosting a fundraiser for the public schools in each store. Carrboro Elmo’s will be donating 10% of sales to the Public School Foundation – which supports all the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public Schools. Elmo’s Diner-Durham will be donating 10% of their sales for the entire day to Easley Elementary.
