Thank you for joining us Tuesday, November 10th, to help FIGHT HUNGER in our area through the RSVVP program of Orange County. RSVVP stands for Restaurants Sharing 10 (V/5 and V/5) Percent. Each year, a Tuesday in November is designated as RSVVP day and local, participating restaurants donate 10% of their total sales on that day to the Interfaith Council for Social Services. The money raised helps to support their effort to fight hunger in Orange County. For more information about the good works of the Interfaith Council, check out their website at www.ifcweb.org. With your help, Elmo’s Diner-Carrboro donated $490.85 to the Interfaith Council. Thank you so much for your support!
First Tuesdays
Both Elmo’s Diner in Durham and Carrboro have fundraising programs on the First Tuesday of each month for their local school systems. If you eat at either restaurant on the First Tuesday of each month, you are helping local schools raise much needed funds. In Durham, each First Tuesday is connected to a specific school (see list below). Ten percent of the sales from the TOTAL day (6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) are donated to the school’s PTA. Many generous customers also asked if there was a way they could donate additional funds at this time of year when it is greatly needed. You can do that by going to their websites which are listed below.

New Website
If you are reading this post, then you have found our new website! As some of you may know, our old website was a “fossil” and greatly in need of re-doing, so we are very excited to be launching this new one! We hope that you will find it helpful and informative! A huge thanks for the development of this website goes to David Christie and Mark Schueler. David was a full time manager at Elmo’s until he left to do great projects like this one. If you need a website designed, please check website credits for his contact information! Mark has managed at Elmo’s for years and is also a photographer on the side. He is responsible for many of the terrific photos you will see on our site. You can also check out his info under website credits. Both guys really went above and beyond the call of duty and have our sincerest thanks!
